Born in Virginia in 1916, spent his life in Augusta County, marrying Catherine Susan Gregory and raising a large family. (of no relation to Governor Thomas Bragg of North Carolina). Sadly the oldest cemetery in Augusta County was neglected, carved up by development, vandalized and maintained poorly once turned over to the city. Only a fraction of the once large historic cemetery remain. His headstone has vanished in any recognizable form but we remember him through this memorial.
