Born Feb. 27, 1945 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Sherman) Hamm.
Barbara was an elementary school teacher for the Hudson City School District for over 30 years. After retiring she was a substitute teacher for the Taconic Hills Central School.
She was a member of, and on the vestry, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Philmont.
Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother and always put others before herself. She was a generous person and loved giving gifts to others.
Surviving are her husband, Dale Rowe of Mellenville; her brother, Lyle (RoseAnne) Hamm of Greenport; her devoted children, Sean (Michele) Rowe of Mellenville and Courtney (Daniel) Hutchings of Arizona; her beloved grandchildren, Madison Frances and Zachary Edward Rowe and Hunter James Hutchings; her beloved cousin, Brenda Van Alphen of Philmont, and two nieces, Jene Luciani of Westchester and Jessica Chiera of Stockport.
