Funeral Friday Afternoon
Mrs. Emily Smith, 75 years old, died at her home near Tonganoxie Tuesday. Mrs. Smith was well known in Leavenworth as her two sons, Dr. A.J. and B.S. Smith live here.
Emily Frances George was born in Pettis County, Mo., in 1835 and was married to Fountain M. Smith in 1856 at Jamesport, Mo. They came to Tonganoxie in the early sixties where they have since resided.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, four sons, B.S. and Dr. A.J. Smith of Leavenworth, William Smith of Kansas City and Fountain M. Smith Jr., of Big Stranger, and two daughters, Emily Frances Smith of Kansas City and Dollie Lee Lutz of Big Stranger.
The body will be brought to Leavenworth Friday. The funeral will be held from Fifth and Ottawa streets at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery.
