Joyce was born on April 2, 1925 in Merrill to Olaf and Wilhelmina (Welk) Skare. She was married to Donald K Osness on July 6, 1946 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Don passed away in 2013. Joyce had worked as the Children's Librarian at the Tomahawk Public Library.
Joyce is survived by three daughters, Donna,Deanna, and Wendy; sister, Darlene. Joyce is also survived by four grandchildren – Maggie, Ben, Shawn and Ryan. She is further survived by five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and a sister, Joann.
