Clida was a longtime resident of the Bronx, NY and Newburgh, NY. She migrated to the Bronx in 1957, then to Newburgh in 1963, where she worked as a homemaker. She was a faithful member of The House of Joy Church, Newburgh, where she was a Missionary/Deaconess and a faithful member of the choir. Clida loved to cook and have family gatherings and always had a word of life for anyone that would listen.
Clida lived a long and full life; her survivors include sons: Carlton Howard Jr. (Muhammad Abdulalim) and wife, Zathra of Williamsburg, VA, Charles Howard of Roseboro, NC, Elder Jesse L. Howard and wife, Theresa of Newburgh and daughter, Donie Mae Howard Murphy of Newburgh; brother, Earl Butler of Clinton, NC and sister, Willa Mae Thomas of Globe land FL. She was predeceased by her five brothers and three sisters.
