He was the son of the late Harry E. Leeper and Margaret Katherine Netting Leeper. He was preceded in death on April 25, 2009 by his wife, Beverly "Bee" Leeper.Harry is survived by six children: Pamela (Donald) Ensign of Richwood, OH, Kathy (Doug) Beck of Holgate, OH, Teri Rush of St. Joseph, MI, Jodi (Dave) Hilliard of Hillsboro, OH, Polly Stidham (Robert Beckelman) of Green Valley, AZ, Todd (Laura) Edwards-Leeper of Forest Grove, OR; 10 grandchildren: Jason (Emily) Beck, Brittni Beck, Jessica Rush, Hannah (Austin) Frederici, Jon Rush, Holly Hilliard, Samuel Ensign, Jeremy Rush, Phoebe Edwards-Leeper, Ivan Edwards-Leeper; and a brother, Charles (Pauline) Leeper.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Goldie Samples, Patricia Long, Betty Orcena, Melba Snare; and a brother, Conway Leeper.
After graduation from Marion Harding High School, Harry served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 and worked at Borden's, The Marion Star, Consumer News, and the Marion Co. Department of Transportation.
Harry enjoyed playing cards at the local senior centers and working out at the YMCA. Harry was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Harry hired me way back in 1977 at the Marion Star as a district circulation manager... I appreciate anyone that hires me for a job. Unfortunately, it was not the job for me, but I still thank the person who gave me the job. Rest in peace Harry.
