During the past few weeks there have been a number of weddings in Penfield, all of which were of course of great interest to everyone. But on Christmas afternoon one occurred which was of more than usual interest as it was a double wedding. The two highly cultivated and interesting daughters of Mr. Abel G. Northrop, were united with two of the most promising young men of the town. Harrrison O. Fuller and Miss Libby are now one, and Myron Shoecraft and Miss Nettie are equally firmly bound by the happy bands. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. L. Freeman at the residence of the brides’ parents. After the ceremony the large number of assembled guests offered their earnest congratulations, accompanied by numerous costly and practical presents. The “Bard of Penfield” read a number of verses of his poetry, which was full of good humor, and not unmixed with good advice.
In the evening the happy couples started on an extended tour which will take in Washington and New York. The best wishes of many friends will attend them not only on the bridal tour, but all through the journey of life.
