Darrell LaDell Sage, age 57 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Friday, April 15, 2016 at his residence.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton with Rev. Butch Hladky officiating. A private family burial will be in the Crofton City Cemetery.

A visitation and viewing for Darrell's family and close friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.

Darrell was born on September 24, 1958 in Bloomfield, Nebraska to David Edward and Betty Jane (Hill) Sage. He grew up in Northeast, Nebraska and attended Niobrara High School. Darrell married Linda Schneider on November 24, 1976 in Bloomfield. They lived in Hartington for a few years where Darrell was a Cedar County Deputy Sheriff. He spent most of his life working in farming and construction and finished his career with over 20 years at Welfl Construction as a crane operator.

Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading Louis L'Amour novels, watching John Wayne movies, and spending time with his family and friends.

Darrell is survived by eight children, Angela and Dean Pick of Hartington, NE; Melissa and Jason Brozek of Appleton, WI; Aaron Sage of Wayne, NE; Matthew and Gretchen Sage of Kailua, HI; Ashley and Andy Evans of Norfolk, NE; Mitchell Sage (Violet) of Yankton; Austin and Teri Sage of Vermillion, SD; Melanie and Ray Hall of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters, Bruce Sage of O'Neill, NE; Roger Sage of Crofton, NE; Norma and Steve Kuehler of Crofton, NE; Karen and Dave Abbott of Yankton; Dale Sage of Sioux Falls, SD; Doyle Sage (Brenda) of Yankton; Mrs Jody (Deborah) Sage Yankton; Jeff Sage (Carmen) of Bow Valley, NE and Nancy Beverly (Michael) of Yankton.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Mary Jane; and his brother, Jody Sage.
