Aaron Springer Well Known In County, Is Dead

Early Saturday morning, Sept 21, 1929, Uncle Aaron Springer answered the last call of his life and his spirit returned to God who gave it. He was born July 11, 1849 and died Sept. 21, 1929 being 80 years 2 months and 10 days of age. His parents, Aaron and Hester Springer and several half sisters preceded him to the grave several years ago.

Early in life he gave his heart to God and became a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Wayne Co. Tn. He retained his membership there until 17 years ago when he helped organize and became a charter member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Leoma, Tennessee.

Forty two years ago he married Molly C. Freemon. Six children came to bless their home, four boys, Allen, Cecil, Owen, and Will and two daughters Mrs. Beatrice Marston and Miss Viola Springer. All except Cecil and Will were with him when death came.

Funeral services were conducted by Revs. J. L. Taylor and F.M.S Peakman at the church Sunday Afternoon. Prof. Brock let the choir in singing "Asleep in Jesus". "The Loved Ones Over There" and other selections suited to the occasion.

The largest funeral procession for several years followed the hearse to the Freemon Cemetary, where the beautiful casket containing the wasted body of Uncle Aaron was placed in its last resting place, to await the time when the body and spirit will be reunited in the great day of days.

He had been ill for the past three years and confined to his bed for the past six months. Wife, children and loved ones will miss him, but our loss is Heaven's gain. If we could, we would not call him back to this old world of suffering and pain. His loved ones have the sweet assurance of his faith in God. We always loved to hear Uncle Aaron shout during a revival, and now he can never participate again.

Relatives from several points in Alabama and elsewhere attended the funeral. The large crowd and many beautiful flowers attested to the love and respect of all who knew him.

The pallbeaers were Messrs. Ford and Bartlett Marston, Ed and Presley Henderson and C.A. Prosser and Ray Garrettson.
