Agnes Christine Giles, 92, of Palestine, TX died October 7, 2006 at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Palestine. Burial in Palestine City Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine. She was born Nov.13, 1913 in Clarksville to William C. and Mary Hausler.

Agnes grew up in Texas where her family were cotton farmers. She was one of seven children. Being raised in a Christian home, she was taught early in her life to give to others and share her faith in Jesus, her Savior. She graduated from St. Paul High School in Marlin, TX in April, 1933. A few years later, she moved west to California, then to Oregon, where she attended Eugene Bible College, graduating in 1945. Later she returned to Texas, settling in the Mart area. She pastored a couple of small churches in the area. In September, 1954, she married Archie Giles. In March of 1956, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Marie. She spent the latter part of her life in Palestine, being a friend and encourager to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Giles; brothers, Rudy, William and Paul Hausler; and sisters, Hilda Gunet and Pauline Cockrell.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie Giles of Ventura, Calif.; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Gordon, also of California.
