Joe Jr. is survived by his daughter, Marie; son, Joseph; and their mother, Hilary L. (Shelton) Burch; his parents, Joseph L. and Margaret "Rusty" (Smalley) Burch; brothers, Matthew (Tabatha), Lawren (Diana), Joshua (Jessamy), and Phillip Burch. He is also survived by three nephews and five nieces; his godmother, Sharon Burch; and fiancée Jennifer Auten. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen; brother, Patrick; and godfather, Bernard James Burch, Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines with burial at St. John's Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa. Visitation was Wednesday at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines, followed by a Rosary.
