Alzina Gloyd married Jesse Elbert Brown in 1919, when she was 17 and he was 23. Their son, Jesse Jr., was born in June 1920. In 1930, Jessee was a café cook and Alzina worked in the porcelain factory as a turner – they would keep these jobs for at least 10 more years. Besides their son, the couple took in two boarders to help with expenses. He'd been employed before his death as Sergeant of the Guard for th Burlington, Iowa Ordinance plant.
He served as an Army cook (301 MTC) in WWI. I do not know his exact cause of death.
Jesse's son (Jesse Elbert Brown, Jr.) became a Texas flight instructor.
