Hazel Adkison, 93, a Moses Lake resident since 1955, passed away April 17, 2016 at Summerwood Care Center.

Hazel was born September 16, 1922 in Fountainhead, Tennessee to Frank and Cora Morrow. She worked alongside her father harvesting asparagus on the family farm in the Yakima Valley. She married Chuck Adkison in 1943. They had two children, Joyce and Rick, before moving to Moses Lake in 1955 where she supported Chuck in his construction work and in raising their family.

Hazel enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and traveling with her husband in their motor home. She also loved playing cards, board games and listening to country music. Hazel was a supporter of many charities, including Indian Children's School, Easter Seals, American Heart Association and Disabled Veterans, as well as the Nazarene Church.

Hazel is survived by her brother, Bill (Aldean) Morrow; her sister, Daisy; daughter Joyce (Mike) Morgan; grandchildren, Sherry Hoonan and Michael Jamie (Kelly) Morgan; and great grandsons Patrick, Blake and Nicholas, who were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck (1988); son, Rick (1980); and by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held April 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake. Arrangements are with Kayser's Chapel.
