Evelyn McCluney, 92 of Mooresboro, passed away April 17, 2016 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic.
She is survived by her special caregiver and nephew, Rob Bailey of Mooresboro, a brother, Jack McCluney, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born July 16, 1923 in Cleveland County, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Samuel McCluney and Docia Humphries McCluney and was preceded in death by three sisters, Anita Lipscomb, Margie Hamrick, and Louise Bailey, and a brother, Ernest McCluney.
Evelyn graduated from Mooresboro High School. She worked and retired from Celanese in Shelby. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, church activities, and spending time with her friends and family. Evelyn was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro conducted by Rev. Mike Frazier. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
