Mrs. Betty Janice "Jan" Johnston passed away on April 19, 2016 at the Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Johnston was born on June 19, 1933 to the late Robert Stell Heflin and Gussie Moore Heflin. Services for Mrs. Johnston will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Interment will follow at the Ft. Benning National Cemetery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband L.D. (better known as “John”) Johnston. Survivors include her son, Joe Johnston and his wife Paula of LaGrange; daughter, Sandra Johnston Earl and her husband Tony of Cartersville; brother, Sam Heflin and his wife Nancy of LaGrange; grandchildren, Ryan Earl and his wife Hannah, Rachel Earl Cochran and her husband Cole, Ellis Earl and his wife Breanna; great grandchildren, Annie Cochran, Max Cochran, Evan Earl and Samuel Earl; extended family and friends; and last but not least, her pet and constant companion- “Angel”- who comforted her always.
