RANSON, W.Va. - Carleton Omar Ibn Abdul-Wali (Wilcox), 20, of Ranson, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born Oct. 13, 1981, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of Khalil Abdul-Wali of Winchester, Va., and Edith Edwards Wilcox of Ranson.

He was a 2000 graduate of Jefferson High School; and was currently attending Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va.

He was a member of the Islamic Society of Winchester.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by six sisters, Malika Wilcox, Makita Wilcox, Melonie Wilcox, Maya Wilcox, Melandra Wilcox and Monique Canino, all of Charles Town; four brothers, Rahsaan Edwards Wilcox, Rahmaan Wilcox, Hahsaan Wilcox and Lamar Edwards, all of Charles Town; one half-brother, Carl Wilcox Jr. of Pleasantville, N.J.; two stepbrothers, Aaron Miller and Jason Fraley (Abdul-Hakim) of Winchester; grandmothers, Mae Edwards of Ranson, and Margaret Wilcox of Pleasantville; great-grandmother, Henrietta Reyes of Egg Harbor, N.J.; his close friend, Shawnta Ball of Martinsburg, W.Va.; his stepmother, Asiyah Abdul-Wali; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles and one niece.

Services will be Saturday at noon at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Va.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
