Reba Fay Sewell, 88, of Mexia, passed away on October 8, 2006, in the Mexia hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2006, in Mexia Cemetery under the direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate.

Reba was born on February 26, 1918, in Thelma, Texas, to the late William Nathan and Lexie Jane Crowson Pelton. She was a newspaper carrier for the Mexia Daily News and the Waco Tribune-Herald for 37 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexia.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred D. Petty in 1974, and second husband, Welch Sewell in 1985; and sisters, Susie Hayden and Mamie Schrader.

Survivors include her daughter, Maxine Ramsey, of Mexia; grandchildren, Jerry Cecil Ramsey and Brenda Haddix of Waco; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Christi; and three great-great-grandchildren.
