Raymond E. Behnke, 83, Green Bay, WI, made his journey home late Wednesday evening, April 20, 2016, after battling Alzheimers for many years. Born April 25, 1932, in Little River, WI, he is the son of the late Gust and Ida (Ahrens) Behnke.

Ray faithfully served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Betty Marquardt on June 22, 1963, at St. John's Church in Grover, WI.
Ray worked as a meat packer for Armour's and later at Hillshire Farms retiring in the late 1990's. In his retirement he worked at Festival Foods as a bagger.
Ray will be remembered for his enjoyment of camping and fishing with his family at White Potato Lake; deer hunting; tending to his lawn and garden; listening to Polka music; woodworking; watching the Packers and Brewers; and volunteering at church wherever there was a need.

Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty;
children Doreen Hermsen of Green Bay; Michelle (Bill) Donart of De Pere;
five grandchildren, Nick and Travis Hermsen; Jordan, Luke, and Kristin Donart;
siblings, Jeannine Thor; June (Clarence) Schaut, Harvey (Jan) Behnke, Diane (Harvey) Marquardt, Mary (Simon) Nowak, and Linda (Ernie) Votata;
brothers and sisters-in-laws, Norman (Irene) Marquardt, Carol Behnke-Kilmer, Lenea (Ray) Carlson, Sylvia (Delmar) Kienitz, Kenny (Judy) Marquardt, and Marilyn Marquardt;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents;
father and mother-in-law, Henry and Gertrude Marquardt;
one brother, Roy Behnke;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Marquardt, Jr., Marion and Willard Hanneman, Gordon Behnke, Clarence Kilmer, and Ray Thor.

Visitation at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2066 Lawrence Dr. De Pere, Sunday (April 24) from 3-7pm Prayer service 7pm at the church. Visitation continues Monday (April 25) at the church from 9-11am. Funeral Service 11am Monday at the church with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Military honors to follow the funeral. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Garden.
