Maria Manfredini ved. Bonini was my paternal grandmother. Age 86, of Sassuolo (MO), Emilia-Romagna, she passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Sassuolo New Hospital, surrounded by her children. Born on Sunday, May 26, 1929 in Casalgrande (RE), she was the daughter of the late Adelco Manfredini and Giuditta Marmiroli. She liked cooking and walking with her husband. She married Emilio Bonini on August 7, 1954 in Casalgrande.
Her life was marked by the death of her first daughter, Deanna, killed in a truck accident. Grief-stricken, she was briefly hopitalized in a psychiatric clinic. In early 2000s, she also began suffering from Dementia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emilio; little daughter Deanna; parents; four brothers, Rolando, Aldemiro (Germana), Paolo (Rosina) and Alfonso (Lombarda); sister Lucia (Renzo); aunt Domenica (Aldo); siblings-in-law.
Survived by two children, Celestina (Giacomo) and Marco (Paola); three grandsons; sister-in-law Maria; nephews and nieces; some cousins; all families and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Sant'Antonio da Padova Church, Sassuolo. Mass was celebrated by Don Giovanni Rossi; interment at Sassuolo New Cemetery; arrangements were by Onoranze Funebri Teggi, Fiorano Modenese (MO).
