Obituary of Alice R. Rodgers
Mrs. Alice R. Rodgers, 73, 64 Willowbrook Village, Duncansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1928, in Altoona, a daughter of Samuel and Ida(sic) Mae (Walters) Eckard.
She was twice married: first to Watson Champeno, who died in 1956; and then to Earl M. Rodgers, who died April 20, 1991.
Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker.
She was a former member of the Eagles and VFW Post No. 3.
Surviving are four daughters: Laura J. Leonard of Duncansville, and Ramona Paden, Tina Grimme and Lynda Long, all of Altoona; two sons: Ronald Champeno of Altoona and Melvin E. Rodgers of Littleton, Colo.; a brother, Edwin Eckard of Hollidaysburg; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary L. Champeno.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at the funeral home by Pastor Robert Wharton.
Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Leamersville, Pa.
