Born in Roseto, PA, he resided in East Brunswick since 1954.
A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. De Cesare was a charter member of Nativity Lutheran Church, East Brunswick.
A graduate of Easton High School, class of 1936, he attended many reunions over the years.
He was an avid reader and also enjoyed woodworking.
His family was the most important aspect of his life. Married in 1941, he and Olive had a storybook marriage.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Olive J. De Cesare, in 1983; his brother, Nicholas and sisters, Carmella Mammana, Jane Bossert and Vivian Gualberti.
Surviving are his daughter, Kay Smolenski and her husband, George, of Ocean Pines, MD; his son Larry and his wife, Jeanne, of Old Bridge; five grandchildren, Lora Smolenski, Amy Ernst and her husband, Michael, Lawrence De Cesare Jr. and his wife, Gizelle, Michael De Cesare and his wife, Melissa, and Christopher De Cesare and his fiancée, Melissa, and seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Abigail, and Avery Ernst and Isabella, Julia, Lawrence III (Tre), and Oliver De Cesare.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 1:00 PM, at Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 552 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
