Byler: - Mrs. Catherine Byler died at the age of 80 years at the home of her niece, Mrs. Cynthia Langston, at San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday, the 16th inst. The deceased, who was in very infirm health, had gone down to San Antonio some months ago to spend the winter with her niece as had been her custom for many years, but had failed very rapidly of late and some ten days before her death was seized with an apoplectic attack from which she never rallied.
The remains left San Antonio Monday night accompanied by Mrs. langston and arrived here last evening. Funeral services were held from the Mayer, Harrison & Zook undertaking parlors at 10:30 o'clock this (Wednesday) forenoon, Rev. H.J. Cockrill officiating, and the body was then taken by motor hearse to a cemetery near Portland to be interred beside her husband, "Uncle Abby" Byler, a resident of that locality for many years.
