Samuel E. "Gene" Pruitt February 1, 2015 Samuel E. "Gene" Pruitt passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a short illness. Gene was the youngest son born to Thomas B. and Bessie Pruitt. He was a faithful employee of Piedmont/ US Airways for 33 years working in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. He loved watching NASCAR races and working with his nephew Barry Elliott framing houses. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Randy, a brother, and several sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of the home; two sons, Robert Pruitt (Lisa) of Winston-Salem and Jeffrey Pruitt of Greensboro; his special sister, "Pete Elliott" of Winston-Salem; his sister, Betty Reavis of Boonville and a brother, Leon Pruitt of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren and five great-grand children. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1:00p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family would like to thank all the caring and loving nurses at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all their special care given to our loved one.
