"Miriam E. "Jackie" Cahill, 76, of Sycamore St., Chillicothe, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1993, in Medical Center Hospital.
"She was born July 22, 1916, to Austin and Anna Street Leach. She was married in Greenup, Ky. on July 13, 1935, to Daniel A. Cahill, who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1992.
"She was a 1934 graduate of Greenfield-McClain High School; she was currently employed by Ross County Community Action as an Intake Aide. She previously served as Senior Companion Coordinator and was honored as citizen of the year. She served as director of the Senior Nutrition Program from 1976 to 1982. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and VFW Post 108, Ladies Auxiliary.
"Surviving are six daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra and Richard Vandegriff, Columbus, Marjean and Johnny Hoylman, Dolores and Terry Frey, Patricia and Danny Ratliff, Lois "Pete" and Merle Garrison, all of Chillicothe, and Jackie and Allan D. Osborne, Waverly; two sons, Thomas W. Cahill and James M. Cahill, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tammy Alnemer, Jeff, Tracy and Valarie Vadegriff, Johnny Hoylman Jr., Terry Frey Jr., Ken Webb Jr., Joe Webb, Danette Distel, Dayne Brison, Daniel Ratliff, Tricia and Brad Garrison, Chad, Natalee, Dustin and Lasci Osborne, Nikki and Nathan Cahill, Cassie, Zach and Beth Cahill; great-grandchildren, Faris and Sareya Alnemer, Aris Neace, Mandy Frey, Margery Ellen Webb, Christopher and Cole Distel, Whittney Brison, Chucky and Cody Ratliff; two brothers, James Leach, San Diego, Calif. and Howard Leach, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Anna Hughes; brothers, Earl and Donald Leach; and an infant son; and grandson, Jason Cahill. She suffered a great loss with the death of her grandson, Scott Frey in April 1992.
"Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Father Anthony Frecker officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday."
