He was the son of Lillian (nee Vary) and Arthur Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed at Red River Catholic Mission Church and attended country school in Marshall County, MN. On 22 June 1955 he married at St.Edwards Catholic Church in Drayton, ND. He farmed near Goodridge, Pennington County, MN. At age 80 he died peacefully at his residence surrounded by
his wife and children. A Mass of Christian Burial was presided over by Father George Noel on Friday, 12 December 2014 at St.Stephen Catholic Church, in Stephen, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by
his parents and siblings,
Lawrence Nelson,
LaVerne Nelson,
Marion (George) Gryskiewicz,
Hazel Anderson and
Eileen (Orville) Knutson;
and brother-in-law, Reuben Knutson.
