After a courageous battle with cancer, Edward Walter Alexander III, of Front Royal, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the age of 64.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Eddie was born on August 8, 1951 in Front Royal, son of the late Edward "Mutt" Alexander Jr. and Kathleen Wines Alexander.
He was a 1969 graduate of Warren County High School and a 1974 graduate of Virginia Tech.
In 2007, he retired after 31 years with A&P Grocery Stores.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tina D. Alexander; two children, Amanda Nicholson (Trent) and Edward "E.W." Alexander IV (Amy); two grandchildren, Natalie and Alexander Nicholson, all of Front Royal. Eddie is also survived by many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Trent Nicholson, Herb Melrath, Paul Baker, Paul Dofermire, Jr. Chad Ramey and Jeffery Grove.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eddie was the happiest in his jeans and flannel shirt. To honor his personal style, feel free to join the family in wearing your favorite jeans for the service.
