Rincon – Hubert Ray “Hugh” Summers, 70, passed away April 29, 2016 at Effingham Hospital.
The Columbus, GA native served in the U.S. Air Force as a Combat Medic in Vietnam and retired after 22 years. He then worked as a Risk Manager for Columbus, GA, Savannah, GA, and West Palm Beach, FL where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mary Pelham Summers; brother, John Edward Summers; and sister, Marie Hunt.
Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at GA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 U.S. Hwy. 301, Glennville, GA 30427.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org
