CHARLES EDWARD ODUM, JR., 56, of Pattison, Texas, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, in Pattison.

He was born August 13, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of Charles Edward and Frances Gill. Charles grew up in Shreveport until the age of seven. He attended schools in Columbus, before graduating from Northbrook High School, in 1977. Charles had a Bachelors Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University. He was a 7th grade Texas History teacher at Royal Junior High, in Brookshire. As a unique teacher, he involved his students in teaching Texas history. Overall Charles was a strong man but with a very tender heart.

Charles was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and former member of Pattison Volunteer Fire Department. Charles enjoyed genealogy and history. He was a huge WWII history buff.
Charles is survived by his wife, LaRay Odum of Pattison; daughter: Shauna Odum of Pattison; son: A1C Ethan Odum, stationed in Altus, OK; mother: Frances King and her husband, Jim, of New Ulm; father: Bob Odum and his wife, Joycelene, of Pattison; sister: Debra Odum of Willis; brother: Richard Odum of San Angelo; step-sister: Elonia Trudeau, step-brother: Les King of Columbus, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dalls Bloomfield, Les King, Peter Macejak, Eric Odum, Jack Odum, Richard Odum, Alex Shew and David Smith.
