Newton,Ks.---Leona Florene(LaMunyon) Wright-Alder, 95,of Newton,Ks. died quietly in her sleep on April 19,2016. Florene was born March 27,1921 in Laverne,Oklahoma graduating from Laverne High School in 1939. She moved to Dodge City,Ks. where she met and married her first husband Connor Wright,youngest son of Dodge City founder, Robert M. Wright. They had a son Lance, the joy of her life. While living in Dodge City, Florene worked for Montgomery Wards and as a secretary in the Ford County Extension Office and the Western Power Electric company.

Florene married Carl Alder andenjoyed being grandma to his grandchildren. Carl and Florene moved to Ellinwood living there for several years. In retirement she was an artist known for her beautiful china painting and paintings in all mediums from water colors and pencils to oils.

After the death of husband,Carl, she moved to Newton,KS. in 2005 to be near her son, Lance.

Florene was preceded in death by both husbands and her son, Lance who died 9 days ago on april 10,2016. She is survived by a grandson, Mathew Jansen of Portland,OR; nephews Gail LaMunyon of Topeka,KS and Virl LaMunyon of Perryton,Tx., Henry Neff of Oklahoma City,OK and a niece, Treva LaMunyon of Scottsdale,AZ. along with great nieces and nephews, step-children, Heather Barta, Carlyne Holt, Mary Ann Watts,Donald Alder, Judi Renier, and 25 step-grand children.

Graveside services and burial will be in Laverne,OK. Baker Funeral HOme of Valley Center is handling arrangements.
