Carl Peter Allen, of Northeast Minneapolis, 80 years old, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in Robbinsdale, Minn.

He was born on October 21, 1935, to Gordon and Myrtle Allen in Duluth, Minn.

Carl truly enjoyed being a professor of accounting. He taught at Ohio State, California State, Winona State, and U of M-Twin Cities. While living in Winona, he enjoyed teaching, the outdoors and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Allen; sons, Jeffrey Allen and Terrence Allen; nephews, great-nephews, step-daughters, Tammy (Larry) Hill and Trish (Pat) Costello, and step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, foster brother, and first wife.

A celebration of Carl’s life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at The Legacy of St. Anthony, 2540 Kenzie Terrace, St. Anthony, Minn., 55418.

Memorials can be made to U of M-Twin Cities Carlson School of Business scholarship fund.

Born Carl Peter Magnusson Jr, the son of Carl P Magnusson Sr. Carl was adopted by Gordon Allen after the death of his biological father.

Carl was truly an amazing man and his loss will be felt by everyone who has loved him.
