Anthony E. Abate, 69, of 335 N. Prince St., died unexpectedly Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital. He was under a doctor's care. Abate was a maintenance worker at the Lancaster YWCA from 1978 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Fin and Feather Club and the In and Out Club, both in Lancaster. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann Altarri Abate. He is survived by a son, Joseph, and a daughter, Margaret Ann, addresses unknown, and a sister, Racheal, wife of Frank O'Neal of Palm Bay, Fla.
