Attica - Gladys M. (Lewis) Little Anderson, 98, mother of local resident, Joanne Broadwater, passed away at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Williamsport, IN, on Friday, May 16. 2014, at 9:05 p.m.
Gladys was born in Elkhart, Indiana, on October 13, 1915.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hattie Belle (Zink) Lewis. Gladys was raised in Plymouth, IN, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1933. She later lived in Warsaw, Mentone and Rochester, where she worked at the Rochester School cafeteria. She later moved to Mt. Clemens, MI, where she worked at the Hill Crest Country Club. In 1968 she moved to Muncie and she worked as a cook at the Oasis Tavern into her 80's. In 2001, Gladys moved to Attica to be near her daughter.

While living in Attica, Gladys attended the Attica First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the both the V.F.W. and the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed playing sports in school and the Indiana Pacers where her favorite basketball team. She liked to travel and enjoyed spending time in Alaska with her son, Tim.

She married Lamar J. Anderson and Paul Little. They preceded her in death.

Gladys leaves behind her four children,
Joyce Fournier, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada;
Timothy (Mary) Anderson, Wasilla, AK;
David (Cheryl) Anderson, Indianapolis, IN
Joanne (Larry) Broadwater, Attica, IN;
two step daughters,
Kathy Griffiths and Betty Agantouch;
21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Madelyn Herschell; a sister, Pauline Brock and a cousin, who was raised as a brother, Howard Rextrew.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, May 19th, from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Janet Luchs officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica-Williamsport Senior Center or the Mac Van.
