Leo A Aberle, 97, passed away Nov 21, 2015, at the Bowdle Healthcare Center in Bowdle, SD. He was born Nov 3, 1918, at Glencross, SD, the 8th child of Nikolas and Anna (Schweitzer) Aberle. Leo was the first baby baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glencross.

He was a farmer and rancher. He married Magdalene Rose Hummel on Oct 16, 1945.

He is survived by children: Pauline Schmidt of Willow Lake, SD; Louise (Robert) Lewis of Manila, AR; Janice (Leslie) Mandernach of Selby, SD; Thomas (Diana) of Glencross; John of Selby; Joel of Aberdeen; Mary (Dennis) Simons of St Lawrence, SD; Harvey of Huntley, MT; Andrew of Glencross; Irene (Wade) Moffat of Piedmont, OK; Gerald (Annie) of Clear Lake, SD; and Kenneth (Criss) of Mobridge; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maggie; his parents; two sons: Arthur and Leo J; eleven siblings.
