Archie Edward Stone, age 77, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Stone was born on December 6, 1938 in Crofton, KY to the late Earnest Stone and Mary Jane Bell Stone. He worked for 30 years at the River Queen Mine with Peabody Coal Company. Mr. Stone served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Al E. Orten Masonic Lodge, the VFW Post in Princeton, KY, and he was of the Christian Faith.
Mr. Stone is survived by a son ~ Mark Stone of Dawson Springs, KY, two daughters ~ Cindy Diane Savage of Delaware and Cathy Jean Hermann of Hanson, KY, one brother ~ John Stone of Aligree, KY, five grandchildren ~ Lila Cavanah, Larry Steven Putty, Seth Harley Amos Montgomery, John Savage, Jr., and Derek Savage, and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Stone in death were his parents; his wife ~ Iris Harlene Stone (departed 4-27-15), two sisters ~ Sissy Back and Dorothy Cavanah, and a brother ~ Roy Stone.
A Masonic Service will be held in his honor at 11:00 AM at Beshear Funeral Home. Burial will follow his Memorial Service at Piney Grove Cemetery with Military Rites to be presented by the 101st Airborne Honor Guard and the VFW Honor Guard of Princeton, KY.
