Nellie Mims Roberts Miller, 81, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 15, 2006 following a brief illness.

She was retired from the Roanoke City Social Services Department, and was a devoted and faithful longtime member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Her love for her family was only surpassed by her faith in the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry W. Roberts Jr.; her second husband, Frank C. Miller; parents, Nannie and Henry Mims; brother, Clarence W. Mims; sisters, Helen M. Ager, Hazel M. Fisher, Ruby K. Mims; stepdaughter, Linda M. Crimmins.

She is survived by her sons, Harry Lee Roberts, and wife, Debbie, of Roanoke, Donald Roberts, and wife, Kathy, of Roanoke; stepchildren, Jerry Miller, and wife, Julia, of Roanoke, Donald C. Miller, of Fincastle, Judy Guilliams, and husband, Johnny, of Boones Mill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Michael Ennis and the Rev. Joe Braisted officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 402 Hershberger Road, Roanoke, Va. 24012. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel.
