To contribute to the happiness and comfort of others was her greatest delight. A fond wife, affectionate and judicious mother , it was in her well ordered home, the sweet abode of peace and happiness that the perfection of her character was manifested; ever a friend to the needy, a kind neighbor, a tender sister, a sympthetic comforter, she was noted for her humanity to servants, who regarded her as their best earthly friend. Honored and esteemed in the community, admired in society, remarkable for beauty and intelligence, widely known and loved in this her native town. Many sincere friends unite with her sorrowing and bereaved family in mourning her unexpected departure.
Why should our tears and sorrow flow
When God recalls his own.
And this then leave a world of woe,
For an immortal crown?
In is not death a gain to those
whose life to God was given?
Gladly to earth their eyes they close
to open them in heaven. "
