Wallace Henry Blom born October 31, 1921 on a dairy farm in Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on March 31, 2016 at the age of 94. He is survived by his much loved wife of 67 years, Betty, his four children; Karen and Kathleen of Redding, John of Portland, OR and Laura of Carmichael, CA as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

A life long carpenter, he worked as a Superintendent of Concrete construction with Hughes and Ladd Construction Co. of Redding, CA from their beginning until he retired at the age of 70. He worked on Whiskeytown Dam and numerous bridges in N. California, Oregon and Idaho.

He was the best daddy this side of heaven. He taught us to have faith in God, respect people and animals, always tell the truth, work hard, and care about others. He raised a family, built a home with his bare hands and love, and took in stray cats. He was honest, hard working and patriotic. He served his country during WWII in the Army overseas in N. Africa and Italy. He loved to tease and he could make the best apple pie ever!

Daddy we love you and miss you terribly!
