David Colvett, of Bertrand, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born November 17, 1952 in Alamo, TN, to the late Horace Clinton and Virginia Pittman Colvett, he had lived in the Alamo and Jackson, TN areas most of his life. He graduated with an Associate of Arts from Freed-Hardeman University and later with a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Murray State University. Dave started out with a career in radio and broadcasting, and had also been a volunteer fireman in Crockett and Madison counties in TN. In 2006, he moved with his family to Bertrand and was employed with the SEMO Electric Cooperative in Sikeston. He attended the Church of Christ at Asherville, MO and was an avid HAM Radio Operator. On September 12, 1987, he married Karen Lynn Stockman, who survives of the home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law, Terry Bruce Stockman.
