Albert Abraham.

Albert Abraham, 94, of 1108 Croton Ave. died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born in Syria on Jan. 4, 1881, to the late Moses and Nizaka Abraham. He was retired from the Carnegie-Illinois Corp. where he was a roller in the tin mill for 36 years. Mr. Abraham was a member of St. Elias Orthodox Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Phoebe Monsour, to whom he had been married 36 years; two daughters, Mrs. James (Yvonne) Joseph in Virginia, and Mrs. Michael (Elaine) Monsour of New Castle; two sons, James of San Francisco, Calif., and Jorge in South America; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a sister, and four brothers, Yaged in 1956 and three others in Syria.

Friends will be received at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in St. Elias Orthodox Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Salley of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for the church . Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
