Darlene Maxine Greer Cox passed away November 13, 2007 at Care Center North in Winterset.
Darlene was born April 20, 1924 in Boone to Glen and Myrtle Stoneburner. She was the second of 11 children. She then married Jack Greer on April 29, 1942. Together they had four children; Mike, Evaughn, Janice, and Ray. Jack passed away on March 4, 1970. In 1973 she married Vern Cox and he passed away on October 30, 1990.
No matter if it was her children, siblings or her grandchildren, they all found it very challenging to win at any card games with Darlene. Darlene retired after 17 years at Emco Manufacturing in Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and one daughter.
Darlene is survived by her children; Mike (Sharon) Greer, Janice (Gerald) Awe, and Ray (Shelly) Greer; four sisters, Norjean Lee, Beverly (Keith) Norlin, Patricia (Al) Appleton, Delores (Delbert) Lee; two brothers, Robert Stoneburner, Keith (Beverly) Stoneburner; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
