Shadrick Dye had two wives: #1 Rebecca Randolph & #2 Sarah "Sally" Gordon (who filed for Rev War Penson) after his death.

Was a private in the Army serving under Gen. Greene, was at the surrender of Cornwallis and watched him surrender his sword to Washington. William was honorably discharged at the close of the war while living in Halifax County, Virginia. His family lived in Virginia before, during, and moved to North Carolina after the war. (4) Catherine Dye Black & Shadrack Dye, both of Pulaski Co., KY, made oath in open court stating they were present in Caswell County, NC when Sarah Reynolds married William Dye in the home of Polly Randall, and that Sarah's maiden name was Gordon. NOTE FROM YVONNE(#46818183)on 10 MAY 2017: Hey Kay: There is no Bethelridge Cem. in Pulaski Co. I believe your William Dye belongs in Bethelridge Cem. in Casey Co. with his son, John. That cemetery in Casey is almost on the Pulaski/Casey Co. line, whereas you might think he should be buried in Pulaski but perhaps went to church there in Casey.
