He was a retired Engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad and a farmer. He was a member and deacon of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He loved his church and family.
He was born in Henderson County and was the son of the late Otis R. Alexander Sr. and Millie Lou Wells Alexander.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Mays Alexander, two daughters; Lisa Alexander Spray (Kenny), Debbie Alexander Welch (Jerry) of Jackson, two brothers, Otis Ray Alexander Jr. and Jimmy Alexander, five sisters, Linda Clark, Sue Buckley, Martha Lou Lewis, Betty Cash, and Pat McLeary, four grandchildren, Melissa Spray Aud (Matthew), Alex Welch (Hannah), Emily Welch Dotson (Chris), and Allison Spray (Hunter Creasy), four great-grandchildren, Maddie Grace & Jase Welch, Millie Kay & Malachi Dotson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Alexander.
Pallbearers to serve are Don Lindsey, Gary Wheeler, Rocky Acuff, Robert Sanders, Marty Phillips, John McKissack, Ken Knipper, Sidney McLeary and Nathan Buckley. Honorary Pallbearers are Clois "Bubba" Duke, Jimmy Sims, Donald Jeter, and nephews.
SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Welch and Bro. Kenny Spray officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will be at Browns Church Cemetery following funeral service.
