Charlie was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late Charlie Mike Flaherty Sr. and Jessie (Machac) Flaherty. He attended school in Bynum. On December 21, 1962, he was united in marriage to Cara Marie Braden in Hudsbed County. Charlie worked as a pipe finisher for Certain-Teed in Hillsboro for over 30 years before his retirement. He then worked for Vesuvius for several years. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Charlie was also a member of the Elm Mott Riding Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and taking care of his cows.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cara, on June 29, 1999; a brother, Alphonse Rudolpoh Flaherty; and sisters: Elizabeth Jessie "Lizzie" Kunkel, Catherine Mary Bajer, and infant sister, Angeline Annie Flaherty.
Survivors include his sons: Clayton Flaherty and wife, Cindy, of Ft. Worth, and Steven Flaherty and Milton Flaherty, both of Vaughan; sister, Willie Mae Uptmor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Z21
