George "Bill" Selvester, 85, died April 22, 2016 at his Red Bluff home. George was born June 6, 1930 in Red Bluff, CA to George and Marie Selvester.
His father's family came down the Oregon Trail to Shasta Co. to establish their home in Beegum, CA. In Beegum George lived his childhood years with his father George and siblings John and Joe.
He went to Red Bluff H.S. where he met his beloved wife Pat. He then spent 2 years in the U.S. Army and then returned to go to work for Minch's Wholesale Meats for 27 years. When Minch's shut down he then went to work for the Tehama Co. Road Dept.
In 1965 George began to volunteer his time to the Red Bluff Round-Up as a Paddock Judge. This volunteerism continued until 2012 when he was recognized for his years of service with the Red Bluff Presidents Award.
In 1993 he retired and spent his time racing horses as he and his wife Pat traveled to many fairs and tracks around the state. This was something they both truly loved.
He was a fantastic father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. George enjoyed many good times with his family each and every time he could.
He was predeceased by his mother, father, siblings John, Joe, Rosemaire, son George Selvester Jr. and Great Grandson Kadin.
He leaves living his most loving wife Pat of 65 years, sisters Shirley, Margaret, Marie and brother Tony, sons Ray, and Robert and wife Fritzie Selvester, and he also adored and loved his Grandchildren Riley, Cleo, Maddie, Margo, Charlie, Saleigh, Nolan and Macie.
