Carol was a graduate of Arkansas Northeastern College and received a bachelor of science in education from Arkansas State University. She was an educator in Manila public schools for 26 years and was a member of Manila First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Mr. Nelson Benson of Manila; one son, Ray Benson and his wife Jennifer of Manila; one daughter, Rachel Gifford and her husband Scott of Manila; four grandchildren, Jenna Rae Benson, Neal Scott Benson, Miles Alexander Gifford and Meg Chandler Gifford; She also leaves two brothers, Bob White and Scott White, Jr., both of Ripley; four sisters, Sue Chalk of Ripley, Doris Brown of Franklin, TN, Mary Ann Marks of Atlanta and Joy Cook of New Orleans.
