Gus Foster Rowe passed away at his home in Keno, Ore., April 23, 2016. He was 97 years old.

Born in Fort Bragg, Calif., Feb. 22, 1919, to Gus Foster Rowe and Alice.

Gus enlisted in the Marines in 1943, learning still photography, remaining one of his favorite pastimes. Upon discharge in 1946, Gus went to work at Richmond Chase Cannery (California Canners & Growers) in San Jose, Calif., with his brother, Ray. Gus was head foreman until retirement in 1984.

He loved gardening, and fishing with his children and brother Ray. Moving to Keno in 1992, he enjoyed delivering baked goods to food banks and visiting all of the people he came in contact with.

He is survived by his children, Gus Foster Thomas Rowe, (Margaret) of California and Kimberly Rowe Jenkins (Reed) of Slidell, La.; grandchildren, Sausha, Joshua and Jennifer Lynn; great-grandson, Iziaak; sister, Evelyn Lunde of Sunnyvale, Calif.; niece and nephew, Beverley and Bill Rutler of Keno.

He will be greatly missed. Gus' children published this obituary to honor their father. There will be cremation and no funeral per his wife.
