Chico Record, Sunday, August 20, 1905, pg 5 col 1: Tracey Dead at County Infirmary. J.R. Tracey, the man who had been suffering for several days at the city hospital and was Friday taken to the county hospital for treatment, died at that institution a few hours after being received. An autopsy held yesterday determined that he was suffering from inflammation of the brain. It was not considered necessary to hold an inquest, as there were no suspicious circumstances connected with his passing, and the body was interred at the infirmary cemetery.

Tracey has relatives in this county and in Los Angeles, but so far communication with them has not been established. The wife of a blacksmith named McKay at Oroville is stated to be a cousin and a Mrs. Frank House of Pomona is also a cousin.
