She was born on January 17, 1957 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Joyce (Corter) Lughart, Sr. She was a graduate of South Williamsport Area High School, Class of 1975. Janis was a travel agent in the industry for 30 years. She loved to travel, sightseeing, reading, murder mysteries and her pets. She was even drafting her own mystery novel.
Janis is survived by one son; Jason Austin of Williamsport and nieces and nephews; Victoria, Dante and Samantha, all of North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Cloyd C. “Teddy” Lughart and Earl C. Lughart, Jr.
There will be a memorial service for both Janis and her mother (Joyce) at a later date.
