Rev. Bernard Hayward Lough, 83, of Elkview passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He served his Lord faithfully for 45 years serving at several churches He served at Eccels Community Church, Eccels, WV; Calloway Heights Community Church, Beckley, WV Abingdon Bible Church, Abingdon, VA, Spencer Baptist Temple, Spencer, WV and Emmanuel Baptist, Fayetteville, WV. He was on the Board of Directors at Appalachian Bible College for 25 years and was a member of Elkview Baptist Church. Rev. Lough was a 1952 graduate of Webster County High School and the Appalachian Bible Institute.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Heron Lough and Inez Burns Lough; siblings, Helen Zinn, Ruth Cordle, Betty Skidmore, Eugene Lough, Franklin Lough and James Lough.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Kay Marsh Lough; children, Carolyn Ann Carper of Looneyville, Michael George Lough of Kettle Road, Roane County, Jonathan David Lough of Covington, Va., Sandra Kay Butler of Bradenton, Fl; siblings, George Lough of Mt. Clare, Grant Lough of Charlotte, NC, Ann Stieding of Mt. Clare, June Balef of Newark, Ohio, Sue Stieding of Webster Springs, WV Joyce O'Brien of Berlin Heights, Ohio, Regina Anderson of Waterloo, Indiana; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in the Clendenin Memorial Park, Clendenin.

Visitation will be 12-2 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Appalachian Bible College, 161 College Drive, Mount Hope, WV 25880.
