George Leon Foster, age 69, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Foster.
Mr. Foster was of the Baptist faith, and was a supervisor at Armstrong/E&B and formerly a Lt. with the Whitfield County Volunteer Fire Department Station 3.
He was loved by his family and enjoyed studying genealogy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Janice Foster of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Ginger Foster, Patrick Foster, all of Albany, GA., and Derrek and Beth Foster of Dalton; sister & brother-in-law,Katherine & Willis Shelton of Dalton; grandchildren, Justin Foster, Michael Cameron, Noah Foster, Corey Foster, Carly Foster, and Ella Foster; great grandchild, Braylen Foster; special friends Karen McDermott, and Kathy and Randy Croy and Family, all of Dalton.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Willis, Rev. George Cross, and Rev. Robert Beavers officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
